Do you want things to happen instantly? Do you have very little patience? If so, then a hot water recirculation pump might be just the thing for you. This will allow you to cut out the waiting time for hot water when you’re at the faucet. How is this accomplished?

There are 2 different options for how a hot water recirculation pump is set up. One is by having a separate pipe for the loop where the hot water circulates from the water heater to your faucet and then back again. This is the more efficient solution, but naturally, it will take more work to get set up. The other option is one that is a lot less intrusive but isn’t quite as effective. In this setup, the hot water will circulate back to the water heater through the cold water pipe. This will make it so you wouldn’t need to install any new pipes between the water heater and the faucet, but you would make it so your cold water will be lukewarm when first turned on.
